As a Korean immigrant with a background in Auckland’s hospitality scene, Shaun saw a gap — many restaurants served fried chicken, but he wanted to bring an authentic Korean experience, using top-quality ingredients and refined cooking techniques.
Auckland’s response was overwhelming, with dishes selling out daily from our shared kitchens. Encouraged by the support of our community, we soon outgrew those spaces, opening our first restaurant in Ponsonby Central’s food hall later that year. Since then, My Fried Chicken has become a local favorite, celebrated for its authenticity, creativity, and commitment to quality.
